Competition fees are in addition to workshop registration fees. Every unique competition will be $10 for each individual. Ensemble competitions are $10 per individual in the ensemble (4 members is $40, 7 members is $70, etc.). Registration for Competitions is open until March 9th or until competitions become full. General Rules
Competitors may not be performing professionally under a full-time contract, have performed under a full-time contract in the past, or been offered such employment by winning a professional audition.
Works must be performed from legally acquired music. Please bring originals with you.
Performers may stand or sit to perform. Students are not required to perform from memory.
Only the mock Orchestral and Band auditions will be screened. Stage presence will be considered for the Solo and Ensemble competitions.
The judges reserve the right to not choose a winner in any of the competitions based on merit.
Winners may be invited to perform in a masterclass or concert at the Workshop.

Eligibility: Students entering this competition must be currently enrolled in high school (Grades 9-12) or in a home-schooling program.

Horn Ensemble Competitions: Small and Large
Eligibility: Ensembles, regardless of size, must be made up of students enrolled in high school, college, or university to enter the ensemble competitions.
Rules:
Ensembles must comprise only one player per part, regardless of Small (3-5 players) or Large (6+ players).
Small (3-5 players) ensembles may not perform with a conductor.
The personnel of the ensemble may not change during the performance. All performers must play on every piece.
While performing, competitors may sit or stand and are not required to play from memory.
One work must be originally written and published for the instrumentation of the ensemble.
Competitors should provide their own music as well as two copies to provide to the judges.
Repertoire:
Ensembles should choose 10 minutes of music to perform for the judges. Performance times will be 15 minutes total. Competitors are encouraged to consider diversity in repertoire, such as contrasting styles of pieces or works by composers (or arrangers) of underrepresented groups.
